Do you know when your body is telling you something is wrong?  When I talk about warning signs I mean low-level symptoms that surface before more pronounced symptoms occur. You don’t wake up in the pits of depression, it takes time to go from your warning signs to paralyzing depression.

Blog Away Stigma Conference

I have decided to start a new project. A mental health blogger conference.  During my time blogging, I realized how little of a presence mental health bloggers had compared to Mom, Fashion, Tech and Lifestyle bloggers. Other bloggers in other topics have events and conventions…so why can’t we?  With 1 in 4 having a mental illness in this country, we should be doing all we can to further research, provide support and reduce stigma.

Why I Don’t Want Kids

With my upcoming nuptials around the corner, I’m fully anticipating on onslaught of questions having to do with procreating. Why is it that people always want to know the next step and can’t simply live in the present one? Anyway, in order to decrease this inevitable line of questioning, I just wanted you all to know that I do not plan on birthing any of my own biological children. Before you get your panties in a twist, allow to explain why I don’t want kids.

HOW DOES MENTAL ILLNESS IMPACT YOUR LIFE?

I thought this would be a good question to try and answer today. Last week I was on what seems to now be annual holiday to Nerja, Spain with my boyfriend. It was a wonderful holiday and I am proud to say that I coped with the flights without the assistance of medication and did not panic. I nearly cried during take-off but I think that was due to not experiencing bad weather on a plane before.
